About the Owners

S and E Railcar Parts was formed in the Summer of 2024 when Stuart Remmers and Ed Smith purchased Thunderhill Services from Kathy McInerney, who’s husband Sean built a reputable brake shoe business for the motorcar hobby.

Ed Smith purchased his first car from Brown Rail in St. Louis, MO in 2002 and did a complete restoration on it. He joined NARCOA the following year and has been an active member ever since. He is the current President of First Iowa Division, the sole area 7 affiliate of NARCOA. Ed is a regular at First Iowa Division excursions and often assists with inspection of cars before the excursion.

Stuart Remmers purchased his first motorcar in 2010 when he attended an estate auction sale. Given a blank check from his father for a Ford Ranger, a Fairmont Motorcar came home in it’s place. Within no time he had learned that he could actually ride the motorcar. In 2011 he joined NARCOA and has been an active member ever since. He not only attends rides, but is also an excursion coordinator or First Iowa Division, where he organizes and assists on excursions in the area.
